The ZimMiki-Injured Police Dog Fund has been established as a non-profit means of assistance for injured K9s. In situations when logistical complications and valid budgetary limitations leave the police service dog without adequate financial support for expensive medical procedures, the Fund will attempt to provide monetary relief for the K9 team. This fund has been created for any police dog (with any department in the country) injured in the line of duty creating a situation where extensive/costly medical procedures have a reasonable probability of success.
Procedures which provide significant long-term improvement to the canine's quality of life. Often times when the police dog is injured, the department retires the dog due to overwhelming surgery charges. The dog then becomes the sole financial responsibility of the handler. This fund has been created with the primary intent of assisting the handler and the injured police dog.

*This fund is not intended to supplement any police department's budget or responsibility to the police service dog, only to assist in qualified cases of financial need.

The ZimMiki Injured Police Dog Fund is NOT affiliated with any police department. This fund has been created through the Calvert Animal Welfare League which is a 501-(c)(3) Organization.
